February 5th, 2015 - Ferguson's Opening Weekend Ends Early at Golden Isles
Chris Ferguson kicked off his 2015 campaign on Thursday night with the opening round of the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Georgia). Unfortunately, the weekend would come to a disappointing early end for the team. Rick Schwallie Photo

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned the event, and Chris started outing by posting the second fastest lap overall among the thirty-three entries on hand. As a result he started on the pole of his heat race, and charged to the lead after and early battle with Steve Francis for the top spot. However, his stellar performance thus far would end is disappointment with a terminal failure just shy of the halfway mark in heat race action.

Ferguson did earn a fast time provisional and would utilize the #42 entry owned by Doug Sanders to start the 23rd position in the $7,000-to-win feature. Chris ultimately retired early on in the 30 lapper, and without a spare engine the team was forced to scratch from the remainder of the weekend.
