Chris Ferguson
Bad luck arises over Labor Day weekend
Chris Ferguson was one of 27 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries on hand at Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Ga.) on Friday evening for the Charlie Mize Memorial. Following the 11th fastest lap overall in time trials, Ferguson jumped up one spot in his heat race to place third. Starting the $10,000-to-win A-Main in eighth, Chris was caught behind a multi-car tangle on a lap-25 restart that brought an immediate end to his night. (Richard Barnes photo)
After taking Saturday off to repair his car, Chris headed to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Sunday for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Hall of Fame 50. With an illegal tire in time trials eliminating his qualifying lap, Ferguson rolled off on the tail for the $7,500-to-win A-Main. Unable to gain any momentum, Chris Ferguson was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on lap 32.
