Ferguson lands fourth-place finish in North/South 100

Chris Ferguson ventured to Florence Speedway (Union, Ky.) on Wednesday night for the 34th annual Ralph Latham Memorial. With 53 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries registered in for action, Chris followed up the second fastest lap in his time trial group behind Devin Moran with a 10-lap heat race victory. For the North/South Shootout on Thursday afternoon, Ferguson posted a fifth place finish in his heat race, transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Sending the Top 2 into the show, Chris came one spot shy with a third place finish.

On Friday evening with a pair of heat races setting the grid for the North/South 100, Chris marched forward six spots in his first heat to pick up the 13-lap victory. With Mother Nature shifting the second round to Saturday afternoon, Chris jumped up three spots to place second.

Sitting atop the 53-car field in passing points, Ferguson locked into the pole position for the $50,000-to-win Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 feature. Dropping three spots in the 100-lap affair, Chris Ferguson scored a fourth place finish behind Tim McCreadie, Brandon Overton, and Jimmy Owens with Dale McDowell coming in fifth.
