Chris Ferguson lands Top-10 finish in season opener at Smoky Mountain
Chris Ferguson made his first start of the 2021 season on Saturday afternoon at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the ninth annual Tennessee Tipoff. Drawing a stout field of 51 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries, Ferguson timed in second fastest in his qualifying group before placing second in his heat behind Chris Madden. Receiving the 10th-starting position for the $12,000-to-win A-Main via the redraw, Chris gained three spots in the 50-lap affair to register a seventh-place finish. (Josh James Artwork)
On Sunday afternoon, Ferguson entered the Ginger Owens Memorial March Madness at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) but the crew discovered a broken rocker arm before the start of the program that sidelined him for the entire evening.
