Top-10 finish in Rumble by the River at Port Royal

With 51-car field divided into two groups for qualifying, Ferguson topped his group with a 18.623-second lap before placing first in his heat. After leading the opening 16 circuits of his preliminary feature, Ferguson surrendered the top spot to Jonathan Davenport and went onto place second in the 25-lapper. He followed Davenport across the line with Gregg Satterlee rounding out the podium.
Earning a front-row starting spot for his heat race on Saturday, Chris streaked to an eight-lap heat race victory, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the $50,000-to-win Rumble by the River finale. Losing ground in the later stages of the 50-lap affair, Ferguson recorded an eighth-place outing.
