Ferguson 11th in XR Spring Thaw 100 at Bulls Gap
After mechanical issues in his toter prevented him from competing in Tuesday’s tune-up, Chris Ferguson invaded Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon for the rain-shortened Spring Thaw 100.
Amassing a stout field of 60 XR Super Series entries, Ferguson laid down the fourth-fastest lap in his time trial group before placing second in his heat race. Starting the $100,000-to-win A-Main in eighth, Chris ran in the top-five for the majority of the race but lost a few spots after a late-race restart to finish 11th.
